At the age of 51, I (Judy) thought my world was coming to an end.
In 1998 I was hospitalized 3 times for an extended illness. I was fired from my job, and because we depended upon my income, we did not have the ability to pay our bills and house payments.
Then Randy suffered a back injury and after the surgery was unable to return to work.
All our lives we had been independent, and had raised our children to take care of themselves. Now we could not manage because we had no income, and it seemed impossible to get help from disability or other services.
I became seriously depressed and my health became worse; it appeared that we would lose our house. Lou Yeager and CHP helped us get disability services and other support. The level of care and help was incredible. Eventually, we had to lose our house, but with the help of CHP we got through that.
Now we know we can get through the worse of things, one day at a time.
Please, if you are in this type of situation, contact CHP. They are so much help.

Dear Lou and Pat:
My goodness, where do we begin? Thanks is such a small word but with our whole hearts we say, “Thanks!”
You both have been a godsend in our lives! It has been an exciting thing to see ‘strangers’ reach out with such compassion to their fellow man! Wow–compassion and knowledge–what a powerful combination! The immediate and immense consequences of your actions on our behalf have left us so full of appreciation for all you’ve done.
On Friday we left CHP with your check in hand and arrived at Care First at 3:55pm. The manager was able to get us reinstated in adequate time and also went the extra mile…about 20 minutes later she made it possible that I (Carole) could (without waiting until Monday) get a prescription that I’d been without for about 2 weeks. Her work day ended at 4:30 as usual. Lou and Pat, you made that possible and we are grateful.
It is so amazing to watch the sovereign Lord work~the men and the methods He chooses are by His design. Thank you for being willing.

The daughter (of a Boost program client)
I am writing to thank you for helping my mother with your Boost program. She is eighty-five years old and lives alone. She only receives Social Security and after she pays for her mortgage and utilities, she barely has a hundred dollars left each month to buy all her groceries and prescription medications. She mostly wants sweet and pastries to eat. When we do give her healthy foods she gets bad stomach pains. She likes the Boost because her stomach handles it well and she says it gives her energy. I feel it is the only way she gets the nutrients she needs. She could not be able to afford the Boost and your program is helping her to live healthier and feel better.
We are extremely grateful,
Betty D. Johnson
This is to let you know how much I appreciate the gift of Boost I receive from your office. I think of it as a gift of life that would be out of reach without your generosity. I really do not know what I would do without it, it keeps me going.
Thank you, thank you
